The Battle Is Not To Destroy You But Prepare You!

To be honest, if you looked at my editorial calendar for today’s post I wanted to talk about the hot events on SL this April. This is, after all, a Second Life blog. However, I must be obedient to God first and foremost and he laid this on my heart to talk about the battle and how it molds us! We are at an unprecedented time in our existence as Corona ravages us and tears us apart. Many people fear that this is the end of life as we know it. There has been much solace and comfort obtained online in Second Life and I’m so grateful for Linden Labs and this grid that we are able to connect with each other. Deejaying at Infinite Possibilities has given me a creative outlet in this time, and a social network and family second to none.

This is a Battle We Face!

Whether it’s Corona, other health challenges, financial adversity, social issues or whatever it is a battle. In life we are either in a storm, headed for one or just coming out of one. Each one of these storms or battles I feel is there to prepare us for the next battle. I was sleeping when God dropped the story of David and Goliath in my spirit. David was a young boy barely an adolescent. He was the sheepherder who only was at the battlefield because he was bringing food to his brothers. He started asking questions and showing a lot of faith. The men saw it as a punk kid talking king crap, but David was having faith, so much that he was brought to the King (1 Sam 17:31).

Going From Level to Level in our 1st and 2nd Lives

Why did this punk kid David have so much faith? Because the Lord has been there for him in the battles he fought in the past. Those battles added steel to David’s heart and faith and trust in God. Check this out!

34 And David said to Saul, Your servant kept his father’s sheep. And when there came a lion or again a bear and took a lamb out of the flock,

35 I went out after it and smote it and delivered the lamb out of its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard and smote it and killed it.

36 Your servant killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God!

37 David said, The Lord Who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and the Lord be with you!

1 Samuel 17:34–37 (AMP)

Our Lions and Bears

David only had so much faith because the Lord had delivered him out of the hands of a Lion and a Bear. Think about that a second. This KID fought a Lion and Bear because of the Lord. I don’t know about you but as a grown man if I see a Lion or Bear I’m running. These were preparatory battles that enabled David to have faith in God. That faith allowed him to talk that big stuff on the battlefield. That faith brought him before the King, and that faith brought him before Goliath. It was David’s faith that slew the philistine and made David part of the royal family (son in law to the King) and placed him in a position that God wanted him to be ready to become the second king of Israel. But before the ticker-tape parade, before Goliath, before the crown, there was the pasture, the sheep, and the Lion and Bear.

Winning The Battle

So no matter the battle you’re facing in your life right now. Whether the most important one is the Corona Virus or something else, you can beat it. God made you as a warrior. I’m not here to evangelize you, this is not the page for that. But I have to say that with God you can do anything. With faith in that, and faith in yourself there is nothing that you cannot defeat. Let’s see if we can get inside of David’s mind. I’m sure when the Lion or Bear came that he was scared out of his shoes. He had to be afraid, I don’t know anyone on the planet that tough. But he trusted in God. That was the key. He knew that he a young boy could not prevail against these animals, but he knew that God was so much bigger than him that God could. God had made these animals, with a word he could decimate the animals, but God choose to let David do the actual work of slaying why? To give David experience, to build that confidence.

Take Heart Friends

No matter what you are facing right now. No matter how bad the Corona Virus (COVID-19) seems to be, we must have faith. Now I’m not saying be foolish and go gather in public, etc. God gives us wisdom and that wisdom says STAY HOME! However, we should not fear pandemic. We should know that God is bigger than Corona. We should take this time at home and work on ourselves. Use it to learn a new skill, use the time to make new friends! If your bored pick-up Second Life and do a new hobby, like I want to get either into flying or sailing on SL, so I’m gonna buy a boat or plane, join some groups, and start learning how to do it!

No matter how big this battle seems know that God is bigger than the foe. No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isa 54:17). Corona will not prosper. Your foes in your battles will not prosper. Have faith during this time and love each other! Now as far as my original plan of dope events, maybe we can turn the VLOG I had planned this week into a two for one, do one vlog on the original topic I had planned which is wait, I had no plan yet! Huzzah! So look for my vlog on Saturday to visit some lit events around the grid! But until then stay safe and have faith! – Neo
